THE ARTY TOURIST GUIDE

East Sussex is full of interesting places to visit and many have connecting themes.

The Long Man of Wilmington is a hill figure on the steep slopes of Windover Hill … near Wilmington surprisingly.

In sight of this, although quite a long way away, is the fascinating Farleys House near Chiddingly, which has been converted into a museum and archive featuring the lives and work of its former residents, the photographer Lee Miller and the Surrealist artist Roland Penrose. Well worth a tour – details under this link.

And then there’s this ….

… the Short Man of Fairlight which isn’t in sight of anything really although of course it is insightful.
However this will be available to view during Coastal Currents Open Studios 2017. Oh, by the way, there will also be a variation on this theme just as soon as I’ve made it.
