“CARPE DIEM!” ……….

……… I shouted as I leapt out of bed.

I ran through the house in my under crackers and stopping only to put on my wellington boots, ran into the garden and gambolled with Gertrude as we celebrated the lovely weather.

I had no idea that the chaps working on the roof of the house next door but one made such an early start in the mornings.

It’s the first time I’ve actually seen them stop talking on their mobile phones.

With all the dignity I could muster I examined the camellia that had just come into flower and then wandered back inside.

The builders remained extremely quiet all day apart from some rather tentative hammering.

(Now I understand the sympathetic looks they gave me on their way home. Lo,TG Ed)
