TIME IS WAITING IN THE WINGS

I have always been rather keen on living the moment rather than taking a photograph of it.

I tend to take photographs in places I’m very familiar with.

These two pics show the affect of time and tide on some lumps of concrete that have been used as sea defences at Pett Level.

Of course what I’m hoping for is that one day a chest full of treasure will be revealed or, in one of my more macabre moods, a skull ………….

    I work in the opposite way- I take pictures to remember. My brain doesn’t retain much and so without photographs I have almost no memories. (And don’t even ask me to remember movies… I’m hopeless! :D )

    My brain is the same actually – the result is either wonderment or confusion, I’m never quite sure which – perhaps I should follow your lead though I suspect that wanders into the area of multi-tasking so there isn’t much hope ………

    I like your photos daddyp

    I’ve been trying to work out what the metal things are. There used to be a railway nearby that serviced a gravel pit – they look as though they might have been wheels from rolling stock ….. now living the life of fossils …..

    I have to take photos ….& feel so miffed if I see something ‘wow’ and my camera is sitting at home !!!

    I took some similar photees in Crosby when visiting the Gormley statues… it is simply amazing what the sea can do to brick & stone …. great images :-)

    daddyp replied:

    The bricks could well be the remains of a house that fell off the cliffs, there are quite a few round here that have tumbled into the sea……… hang on!!!! …….. gotta go and measure the garden!!! ………. whoooooooooooosh

    Rather than a skull, perhaps some unexploded ordinaries may surface.

    daddyp replied:

    I wonder which one will be heralded?

    * Chief
    * Fess
    * Pale
    * Bend
    * Chevron
    * Cross
    * Saltire
    * Pile
    * Pall or Shakefork

    …… time will tell I suppose …….

    Beautiful photos….makes me miss the ocean…my favorite place on earth.

    I love taking pics…to capture the moment forever…and to share it with others. THANKS for sharing this with us! Happy Sunday to you DaddyP!

    daddyp replied:

    Morning Olga – long time no see! or should it be ‘long time no sea’? – tee hee.

    Go down to the coast and get a fix!!!!

    I can send you one of my shoes I wore without a sock for a week. I’m sure you’d treasure it.

    daddyp replied:

    Only if encased in concrete – although the postage would be horrendous. What size feet do you have?

    John replied:

    Too many Goddesses to say anything relating to foot size, I know better.

    I could…send the socks to penfold instead, in a booby trapped ziplock baggy that disintegrates when he opens the box they’re in!

    daddyp replied:

    After his comments on Twitter …….. yes please do …

    John replied:

    email me his physical address.

    daddyp replied:

    Have a lovely time …… but beware of crabs …….

    John replied:

    …and…so much for eating crumbs off her now with that graphic image intact.

    daddyp replied:

    There are draw-backs to most things …….. oh well
