Is it really that time of year again ………
…….. when gin has to be sloed ……… the fly is considering it obviously ……..
….. and little hands and mouths have to turn black? Mmmmm ……… jam!
Surely it’s too early to be thinking about Christmas decorations.
I suppose I could get it over and done with now and start preparing for the January sales.

Can you make grape jam? I have so many of the damn things that they are falling from the vine
Grapes? – why are talking about grapes? Anyhoo, I believe you can young Zoe ….. I know I’ve tasted grape jelly which was delicious …….
Indeed… grape jam is lovely. I prefer it to the jelly.

DP, i’ve seen you on YouTube.
You haven’t got little hands or mouth.
The camera puts 10lbs on you – I had 5 cameras running at the time ………
Oh pshaw. You’ve never shopped a January sale yet. I suspect you’ve already been into the gin.
You know me so well – about the shopping that is – way too early to start on the gin [note to self - buy some gin]
arhhhhhh DP said the ‘C’ word……..
For which he will lose all his privileges – or he would do if he had any.
[Hmm, have to think of something else.]
lol TG
Aren’t his privileges digging ponds?
Have I reached rock bottom?
oh that right the pond!
lets go play in the pond! lets go! lets go!
(splash) (splash)
I’ve just put some goldfish in the pond Nooter ….. they need to be left in peace ……..
i understand.
goldfish, rest in peace.
Not exactly what I had in mind Nooter ….. you could keep next door’s cats away though if you want to be useful ……..
I think the other privilege is mixing cement ….
Ha de ha! – I’ve still got a bit to do – foundations for the shed don’t you know ……. I mean studio/writing den/bar
That’s not a privilege – it’s for his shed. He’s grateful!
you know you are absolutely right silly me
Have you got any gooseberries? I love gooseberry jam
So do I and no ……. I’m depressed now ….. *sulk*
I am both ashamed and proud to admit that I’ve started my Xmas knitting … but how do you sloe gin? Is it like slurping only quieter?
Christmas knitting …… that sounds like a threat. My mother used to do the same for us …… a definite threat.
You bung sloes in a bottle of gin to enhance the flavour – I’m sure there’s more to it than that though …..
you bung sloes ??
translation please…
*speaks louder* BUNG SLOES ……. OK?
alright, alright. sheesh you dont have to yell
bung sloes to you too, ok?
[sometimes I wonder about that dawg]
oh come on DP ‘bung’ and ’sloes’ are not terms used across the pond plus Nooter is a dawg and can sit and stay and chase fish …. ahh the simplicities of a dogs life …:-)
across the pond?….but I still love anyone who can use the phrase ‘chase fish’ and keep a straight face…
All I’m saying is that Nooter isn’t the sharpest tool in the box ……. although he can read and use a computer which is a tad unusual in the canine world I suppose …..
Come on Daddy P – lets enjoy the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness before we hurtle into the cold, dark spell….
I love a September morning…. beautiful!!!
You’re quite right Kate …… I do apologise ….. [it won't be long though ...... just sayin'...... tee hee]
I’m sure I saw a mermaid amongst the mulberries.
You see mermaids everywhere Archie …… *goes back to check*
I’ve really gone off mermaids.

So that’s what happened to – - – umm never mind.
[sob]
Something smells fishy ………
are they fish for the pond?
Please see comment above …… [attention span of a gnat that dog .... tsk]
Yummmmm black berries!! I say that for Bill. He loves them. We always have a blackberry cobbler just for him at Christmas.
Yes it’s way too early but not according to those awful super stores which I won’t name. Another American contribution that has wiped out millions of wonderful little unique shops world wide.
To answer your question they are not morning glories. I am going to have to do a search and find out their exact name.
We have about 3 homes here in my community that have these vines and they are huge as are the blooms! The blooms are about 4 to 5 inches in size.
I have tried and tried to get some to grow for me but without any luck at all of course. Walter has the green thumb in our family.
I even managed to kill out last 2 cacti this year. Now that takes true talent to kill a cactus!!
Yuck…to the gin!! Stick with Tequila!!
I quite like gin every now and again, with tonic and ice and a slice …… I haven’t had one for ages though – concentrating on malt whiskies and Guinness at the moment ……. honing skills you understand Jackie – tee hee
BTW – how do you manage to kill a cactus? ….. that must take great skill as well ……
I’m slicing..OUCH!!!
Will be photo-ing cacti soon…
Do you want massive photos?
blimey that is some good going Jackie .. I have cacti in my conservatory that hardly ever get any attention and thrive in ickle pots ……….
I have to ask… when you bung sloes in gin to enhance the flavor, does it enhance the flavor of the sloes or the gin? So it looks to me like you may be planning on Sloe Gin, Blackberry wine and some sort of Holly elixir that acts as an emetic? Clearly the last one is intended for the same people that you send down the path to the left…
You have discovered my secret plan Jamie [don't tell anyone OK?] – de dum de dum de dum de dum *looks innocent*
“you send down the path to the left…”
you need more comments like this…..
It does show an admirable degree of concentration and memory doesn’t it ……. I’m slowly beginning to think that Jamie might be quite bright …. tee hee
