The terrible Goddess [off stage right, reclining on ottoman]

Act 1
DP rushes on stage and then turns, heads back towards the house and shouts.

IT’S NEVER TOO LATE TO CHANGE

I have decided to retire from my brief but successful career in sound effects. My ‘Stampeding Horses’ couldn’t be bettered and I reached the zenith of my game in ‘The Charge of the Light Brigade’ [although some did say it sounded more like the donkeys on the beach at Blackpool during a wet patch].
