RAIN STOPS PLAY

Every cloud has a silver lining, as my Great Aunt Maud said gleefully as she sat vibrating in her Vauxhall Viva when her big end bearings were very worn. (Indeed, they were. Very worn. Lo,TG Ed)

Ma Belle has her raincoat on and I can rest my poor old aching limbs. It also gives Lo, she is a terrible Goddess the chance to give me very full and detailed instructions on where each stone has to go to achieve the effect she we wants (LO,TG Ed) in the back garden. Actually, we’ve moved on from the stones now and are onto the positioning of the grains of sand ……. I might have to start numbering them. (Double tsk!  Am I to understand that some have already been positioned un-numbered? Lo, TG Ed)

    All work and no play makes Jack DP a dull boy…

    TG – Best use this rainy opportunity to allow the poor boy a bit of play, lest he become a bore.

    {{Fraccy sis… does that sound too much like someone trying to get a raise? And gee whiz but I hope he doesn’t get any bright ideas to have me do the numbering of those grains of sand for him…}}

    OK what’s going on? My wireless connection became less than wireless and I’ve had to turn my lappytop on and off several times between pacing up and down with worry …….

    Best read what people have said I suppose …. Fraccy wants a raise, 70’s is whispering again [probably hung over] …. oh yes and siding with the TG, very wise ….. all right, everything sort of normal …… time for a lie down again ….. I can’t take the strain like I used to …..

    70steen replied:

    ahem I was whispering coz I thought you were oversleeping …. anyway some of us have work to do,,,,, bye..eeee

    @LO:

    That positioning of sand, do we need to only position the yellow grains………????

    daddyp replied:

    The TG isn’t around at the moment. I, obviously, have no idea ……. without clear and precise instructions I find it impossible to move …..

    prior to numbering, all sand should be sorted according to size and point of origin

    I’ve just noticed something.

    You’ve covered Ma Belle with a trusty raincoat, but left two bags of cement there with nothing to save them. Likely the bags are made of paper DP, and now… I’m not quite as ‘manly’ as you but I do know a bit about yard projects and think that getting the cement powder all wet just might be a bad thing. If you hurry, you might still be able to run out and save them. QUICK…

    Now, aren’t you glad you have me around to tell you these things hours after you do them?

    :giggle:

    fracas replied:

    Whoops three bags full. The plot (as well as the cement) thickens.

    :tee hee:

    daddyp replied:

    They’ve just introduced plastic bags over here … b****r the carbon footprint – they’re brilliant!

    fracas replied:

    Horrors! At least we Canadians are smart enough to be still placing our cement powder mix in paper bags! Hence… there’s always work for the labourers. When it rains and traditional work stops, the labourers fan out to work sites all over the country… saving the bags of concrete from demise. It’s rather impressive and all… like when folks are lined up sandbagging for a flood… gets news coverage and all, and we only have to pay them time and a half for all of that.

    It’s worth it though, to save the world from the blight of more plastic bags. We prefer to send all our plastic to Hollywood. They need it far more than we Canadians.

    daddyp replied:

    I think I’ve seen what they do with it in Hollywood ……. best if I try and keep my mouth shut ….. well I’ll try anyway ….. tee hee

    When she’s needed again, pack her bearings, squirt some oil where she squeaks and run her again. I suppose you could fill her with sand, over energize her and let her decide where the sand goes… that’d be a mean end, though, for one so faithful through the years.

    daddyp replied:

    Her fan belt went yesterday …… still, I measured her up for a new one and she’s now turned over a new leaf …. as soon as she breaks down I’ll join her – tee hee
