I love ‘The Unbelievable Truth’ and heard that one. Those tall wigs worn by goddesses in the 1600’s were called Macaronis I believe …….

I find ‘Syrups’ (of any species) a tad ridiculous.
The excellent BBC RADIO4 show ‘The Unbelievable Truth’ recently featured items about Kate Winslet wearing a ‘Merkin’ in the film ‘The Reader’.
Also something about one of the English Queens (possibly Anne), who had to have her treatment halted because she was laughing so much, the cause of her hilarity was her physician’s wig catching fire!

I wonder if the young lady in the second photo could be tempted by a truffle?
