ANOTHER BRICK IN THE WALL

Oh yippee, some bricks have arrived – part of the TG’s cunning plan to keep me occupied and out of the house.

Firstly they’ve got to be moved from here ……

……. to here ……

To ease the boredom I shall start naming them again.

So far I’ve handled Simon Cowell, Uma Thurman, Hermione Norris, Cat Stevens [a rather retro brick], Uncle Philip, Judith Chalmers, Mary Poppins [practically perfect], Judas [fell on my foot], Uma Thurman the 2nd, William of Orange [obviously], Stavros Flatley, the Tooth Fairy, Gerald and Mr Blobby.

I thought these days were long gone.

*wistful look into the middle distance*

    *AHEM*

I do not see where you’ve named any bricks after dear Fraccy sis, or moi.

And to think she was worried about you and posting photos on milk cartons and we were looking in alleys and all kinds of dangerous places for you.

    I’m disappointed… seriously disappointed.

    {{Sis… perhaps we should’ve advertised his photo on the carton of epsom salts instead? In Canada they’re sold in cartons shaped just like milk cartons… it’s perfect actually!}}

    daddyp replied:

I come back from the wilderness and discover this …… tsk.

I believe I’ve been waterlogged …. my memory is a tad hazy, mainly due to a rather fine wine admittedly. I suppose I’d better read what everyone has said now …. work work work!!! – tee hee.

BTW young Fraccy, I couldn’t name a brick after you or 70’s as the foundations bear your names …… if the garment fits and all that ……

    Nooter replied:

whered ya go? were you hiking the appalachian trail with the governor?

    daddyp replied:

My wires were crossed Nooter ….. it took me some time to notice ……

    John replied:

Why name a brick after Fracas?

They’ll be ‘grouted’ soon enough. (evil giggle snort)

Ok…but somehow even though there’s no web definition other than mortar…the word ‘does’ sound Fraccy. (goes into senseless giggle snorting)

    daddyp replied:

Grouting is terribly important ….. otherwise the moisture gets everywhere ……. tee hee [it's important that it's mould resistant as well of course]

    John replied:

Kinda like if all women were like the Coneheads anatomically.

    fracas replied:

Are you two boobs about finished? Sheesh. No wonder nothing gets done around here…

    John replied:

Shhh, Fracas. I’m smoothin’ the grout on my Conehead’s blow up doll.

…and yes, it’s the female one!

    daddyp replied:

I thought I was on safe ground talking about bricks which are as far removed from ’stuff’ as possible ….. and yet ……. tee hee.

Anyway, it’s time I started laying again …. I hope my back can stand it ……. [and the first person to mention chickens will get a very loud 'tsk']

If you put your glasses on you could look a bit further…

    daddyp replied:

…. and what might I see young Penfold ….. your inheritance going up in cement …. tee hee

[I had to replace the fanbelt on the mixer yesterday - it was only 23 years old ..... rubbish!]

gawd you do someone a favour and how do they repay you?? name some misshapen brick cast into the shadows of the foundations never to be seen or admired ever again ….can you point it out tp me before I disappear forever *sniff*

    daddyp replied:

70’s is at the deepest point …. if that fails, the whole structure will come tumbling to the ground and there will be no hope for anyone …… [it was rather a pretty brick - the only fault on it was the printing of the name - some of the letters were missing and in the wrong order - tee hee]. Fraccy insisted on wearing high heels – odd behaviour for a brick ……

    gitwizard replied:

Surely Roaring 40s are deeper, screaming 70s are sillier granted but……………….

    daddyp replied:

    Perhaps 70’s is really a 40’steen? ….. you can’t trust anyone nowadays …….

    gitwizard replied:

And can you point out the 70s brick tp me too???

    daddyp replied:

Buried I’m afraid GW …… but usefully of course ….

Welcome back! We were all very concerned, I myself bought a container of 70s designed milk cartons, of course, the refrigeration costs will be extreme, but Fracas has assured me that the cheque from DP Enterprises will be good for many years, and Sotheby’s have told me that if properly laid down they will become a collector’s item to rival ‘Joy Division Oven Gloves’ http://www.halfmanhalfbiscuithalfhearted.com/

BTW any sign of Joan of Lark?

    daddyp replied:

At last ….. someone who isn’t complaining ……

I hope that your shrewd investment works out …. I might buy some myself actually …..

    fracas replied:

I’ll make sure the cheque clears… otherwise I’ll just use his credit car… oh, hi DP. We were just talking about cars. Yes.. cars.

    daddyp replied:

If I didn’t trust you completely I’d be slightly worried …….. [mmmmmmm - something's afoot methinks]

Now you’re connected, you can have a go at http://newsvote.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_depth/8143138.stm
over at Archie’s, you can’t get a lower score than me…………..

    daddyp replied:

Oh yes, the BBC Quiz ….. I’ll get over there as soon as I can. The TG has just invented a new game – communal vacuuming ….. I might have to write a post about it …. oh well

    gitwizard replied:

Excellent! I can be your new game consultant, I am an ex vacuum cleaner mechanic….

done yet? oh… maybe they should go over *there* instead?

    daddyp replied:

I wish I had ‘done yet’ Daisy ……. there are loads of them. When the TG decides to keep me busy she doesn’t muck about …….. bless …..

I could be wrong, but one of those bricks looks like it is Keanu Reeve’s Acting..

I could be just the camera.

    daddyp replied:

Hello Eric – how’s the wife’s cooking? tee hee.

Actually I think you could be referring to Michael Caine – bottom picture, fourth in from the right, middle row? – it’s very easy to mix them up …… I am an expert.

From the looks of all those it appears you are attempting to build the Great Wall of DP. Still alot of names to go, though. I’d really like to see one named Churchill… and maybe Uma Thurman the third.

    daddyp replied:

And so it shall be Jamie – tell you what, I’ll even name one Jamie ….. and one James ……. and two Jammies …… and another one Jam …..

    Jamie replied:

I’m honored… and tearing up a bit. Anyone have a tissue?

    daddyp replied:

Of course ……..I’ll join you *bloooooooow*

    daddyp replied:

You go back a long way Nooter …… I hope you don’t mind me saying but your hum sounds a bit like a growl ……. but with more phlegm …..

  10. Posted July 11, 2009 at 3:06 pm | Permalink

You handled Uma? Well done – - -

    daddyp replied:

Don’t tell the TG but I didn’t wash my hands afterwards either ……

  11. Posted July 11, 2009 at 4:30 pm | Permalink

Joan of Lark is still MIA then?

    daddyp replied:

I believe she’s larking about somewhere …… fiery little goddess ……..

    gitwizard replied:

Larks are a well-defined family, partly because of the shape of the tarsus (Ridgway 1907).

    daddyp replied:

The shape of the Tardis!!!?! …. it’s a police box isn’t it?

    gitwizard replied:

the American Ornithologists’ Union places larks just after the crows, shrikes, and vireos.
Just checking Wiki for Tardis, and what the heck are vireos????

    daddyp replied:

    ….. a type of biscuit I believe ……

Ta for the http://www.daddypapersurfer.com/how-to-ease-boredom/ link BTW, my first entry to the blogosphere.

    daddyp replied:

I really should have seen the signs ……. oh well ….. time for a little lie down ……..

If you have any cracked bricks you can name them after me…if you want. :)

    daddyp replied:

I could have done with your help over the last few days Olga ….. you’re a strapping lass after all …. tee hee
