A NEW SCULPTURE!!!!!

My muse has returned with the appearance of the shed; not that I used it but that isn’t the point – it’s mere existence has got my creative juices flowing.

Avid readers, let me present ……..

leaning tower of gingernuts

…… The Leaning Tower of Gingernuts!!!!!

Slightly out of proportion I’m afraid because I got rather peckish during the creative process, but what can you do?

This magnificent construct uses cultured gingernuts standing on a base of Indian sandstone.
The resonant tension so ably displayed and the taut spacial definition  illustrates very forcibly the relationship between nature, gravity and the universe. The deconstruction of post-modernist (Yay – post modernism! Snort. Lo,TG Ed) attitudes combined with the Ginger-vitism movement has heralded a new era in the art world. When the critics said “this demented piece sucks” they neatly fell into the trap laid before them. Such innovation has not been seen since the introduction of  gum arabic and the demise of home-made Christmas decorations. Time will prove them wrong as the tower crumbles. They will eat their words and I shall eat the Tower and then we’ll see who is the idiot. (Prescience, thy name is Lo, she is a Terrrrible Goddess. I saw that a long time ago. Lo,TG Ed)

Price on application [will include a small surcharge for re-opening the biscuit tin and the dangers involved therewith.]

.

(A neat piece of propaganda on behalf of the dental industry. Well done Peabrain. Lo,TG Ed)

Well I for one will admit that I have had a a couple of beers and possibly some Tequila. Perhaps this would make sense if I had come over before the beer.

I am a naughty girl…but, yet, I am good too. It’s truly a delicious combination!!

I ain’t never given in until my ashes are spread!

I have no clue whatsoever the hell that is. But, you know what DP? If you like it, then I love it!!

    daddyp replied:

……. drink and no spelling mistakes or typos !!!!! ……. blimey, it’s a miracle ….. [now you take care Jackie ..... *hic*]

will have to comment on the neat grass…impressively green, lush perfectly trimmed…ah you British!

    daddyp replied:

I hadn’t noticed what the grass looked like. In actual fact I haven’t cut it for ages and I HAVE NEVER TRIMMED THE EDGES! – the photo lies ….. weird …….

    sylvied replied:

next you will be telling me that no gingernuts have been involved in this *sculpture*…as my son’s headteacher says: il va falloir serrer la vis…

    daddyp replied:

    I’ve got a loose screw!!!?! ….. eeeek.

Anyhoo, I can confirm that no gingernuts were hurt during this creation ….. I can’t promise that the next *sculpture* might involve the biscuits in some discomfort though ……. oh dear ……

Tagged bowel movements??? Oh, I see, that refers to:
‘they neatly fell into the trap laid before them’……..

    daddyp replied:

Well spotted GW!!!! [I just liked the conjunction of 'art movements' and 'bowel movements' - seemed apt somehow - tee hee]

That reminds me of the Sherry Log my mum used to make with a packet of gingernuts, a pint of whipped cream and a cup of sherry….. yummmmmmm

    s replied:

Hm, you should post that recipe

    daddyp replied:

I agree with Sledpress …. [did I say that out loud? - whoops] ……… yummy scrummy …..

    70steen replied:

Oooooooo Nursie I had quite forgotten about that dessert…. my mum used to make that too in the 70s … it was yummy but oh so sickly ;-)

    daddyp replied:

Can we please try and concentrate on the art!!!?! ….. *mumble* *mumble* *tsk*

    fracas replied:

    I think we are.

    :chuckles:

    daddyp replied:

    Tee hee ……. double tsk

    fracas replied:

Are you saying as a youngster… you were allowed to eat a dessert made with a cup of sherry?

    Oh those 70’s!

LOL… we used to get cherry brandy when we had a cold. Better than cough syrup!

We make a dessert like that with chocolate wafer cookies and whipped cream with coffee liqueur in it. I’m going to try the gingernut/sherry version now. What kind of sherry? I’m not up on sherry… are they all the same? Are some better than others?

    Eduate me (please).

    daddyp replied:

‘Eduate’ you? – I’ll have to look that up.

Sherries go from very dry to very sweet ….. I would imagine a midway one would be right – no doubt 70’s will know …….. [Croft is a popular brand and reasonably reliable]

    70steen replied:

Dear Frac … oh yes that and sherry trifle … I think my Mum would have used Harvey’s Bristol Cream… can’t stand sherry however I got a taste of some fine ‘jerez’ in Madrid … nectar … ahhh!!

    daddyp replied:

Bristol Cream is verrrrrry sweet …… just sayin’

    fracas replied:

That makes sense though… if the sherry is sweet, then one doesn’t have to sweeten the cream. Sounds like 70s’ mum was a smartie pants.

    daddyp replied:

Looking at her daughter I think you’re right …….

    fracas replied:

I blame it on my glasses. They were bothering me and I took them off for a bit.

So… it started out being “Edumacate me” (because that’s what John would say and I was trying to remind you of him since you’ve taken such a shine to him and haven’t noticed my new stockings today and all…) but then I realized it wasn’t good English to say edumacate, so changed it back to “Eduate” because I can’t ‘c’ very well without my glasses.

I do hope you understand it wasn’t my fault.

    {{{Fracretaries can’t admit to typos because it affects their ability to ask for raises and bonuses…}}}

    daddyp replied:

“so changed it back to “Eduate” because I can’t ‘c’ very well without my glasses.” – that’s worth a gold star Fraccy ….. tee hee

Finally, someone has brought biscuits into the world of garden sculpture! Makes me wonder what you can do with chocolate hobnobs *dreeeeeamy*

    daddyp replied:

I’ll have to perfect techniques with the humble gingernut before I even attempted such an unrelenting medium as a chocolate hobnob ……

    Purple Pigeon replied:

Maybe you could use the chocolate as a rudementary cement and therefore create a very sturdy and knobbly structure. I’ll leave it with you.

    daddyp replied:

I’d start worrying about the ambient temperature, the proportions of hob to nob, the temptation to devour the art ……. all very tricky …….

A work of art … but sadly lasted only for a while I guess.

    daddyp replied:

A soggy mess after the first rainfall I’m afraid …..
